EVALUATION QUESTION 4: TECHNOLOGY

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

RESEARCH

SCOOPIT

Using ScoopIt! I collated all my research into album covers in an online display that I could easily update.HERE is a link to my ScoopIt!

PINTEREST
Pinterest is a versatile, easy-to-navigate online pin board tool that displays visuals and text linked to websites. I created a 'pin' on media posters and magazines.

PIKTOCHART
An infographic tool with a wide variety of templates including useful charts (pie charts, bar charts are taken in through Excel). You can also create presentations through Piktochart which I find very useful and easy to use. HERE is a link to one of my Piktochart.

BLOGGER
Blogger is hosting all of my other new technologies at the research and planning stage. As a multi-media social networking tool it allowed me to collate, archive, display and create research and planning with images, videos, sound files, and posts that I could share with my group. It hosted all my other presentational tools, from Emaze to Slideshare and Trello. My blog is where everything can be found and there everything is kept. Feedback left has helped me improve my work and get it to a better standardHERE is a link to my blog.

TWITTER
I have created one Twitter account, which I use to look into what is happening in media today and the latest trends in filmmaking. Twitter is a very useful new technology platform as it helps communicate with the rest of the world in a very fast and efficient way you can also look for inspiration by looking at your followings pages and get some ideas for your own project.

TUMBLR
I have used Tumblr for research as it allows for a quick search through a social media platform for pictures, videos, articles and gifs. It is a rising social media platform and has millions of people using it from all age groups making it perfect for research and promoting our film trailer. Here is a link to my Tumblr.

PREZI
I have used Prezi in my evaluation question 2 to present information. However, I do not like the format and prefer to use Emaze for this. Here is a link to a Prezi I have made.

TRELLO
I have used Trello to keep organized and research everything I need to do for my blog, trailer, poster and magazine cover. HERE is a link to my Trello.

PLANNING

TRELLO
I have again used Trello to keep organized and plan everything I need to do for my blog, trailer, poster and magazine cover. HERE is a link to my Trello.

EMAZE
I have used Emaze to present some of my Art of the Titles research and other research as it is very colourful and appealing. It is also easy to navigate and is very fast and space efficient. HERE is a link to an Emaze I have made.

FACETIME
People who own Macs can use FaceTime as a communicating tool. FaceTime was important to me as it is a live chat, so it is like a real conversation, allowing us to show each other our ideas for props and blog posts as we chatted. It is spontaneous, immediate and free to use. I used FaceTime to talk to my team member Beatrice and talk about possible editing choices for our movie.

IMESSAGE
I used iMessage to keep in touch when planning to shoot with my group.

GOOGLE DOCS
This is a sophisticated and flexible tool that enabled us to work collaboratively on the same documents. We used it extensively when creating the shot list, the call sheets and the scripts. It is flexible because we could update ideas, add photos of locations, plan the blocking of movements with photos to prompt our memories and keep our ideas looking professional and easy to access. Google doc. It is flexible because we can update it anywhere and it shares our work online.

CONSTRUCTION

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
I have used photoshop to create both my film poster and my magazine cover. I have learned from my AS year how to use basic photoshop but for the more complex use of photoshop, my group has helped me (Beatrice and James).

IPHONE 7 PLUS
Instead of using one of the school cameras to film our trailer, this year we have used my iPhone 7. It high-tech camera and has shown to be more convenient to use for our trailer as I can film anywhere and at any time.

AIRDROP
As we have been using my iPhone, an easy way to get the videos from my iPhone to my Macbook is through Airdrop. AirDrop uses Bluetooth to create a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi network between the devices.

EVALUATION

YuDu
This enabled me to present all my evidence about how I used technology in a visually exciting and logical way with images, text, embedded video and audio.

  1. A wide variety of new technologies that shows what good use you have made of them from concept to consumption during the course. You have used them extensively in the course and you offer some links and visuals here, although it is not visually exciting.
